Who hires a Professional De-clutterer and Organiser?

Lots of different people; men, women, people working full and part time, retirees, stay at home parents, people with disabilities, elderly people. Often people are experiencing a significant life change which means help is needed to sort and organise. For example, moving home, downsizing to a smaller property, a new baby arriving, divorce, bereavement, etc.

Shouldn’t I just do the work myself?

I understand it is easy to avoid the clutter and just close the door to that room! But when a session is booked, we are going to get the work done quickly and efficiently. I will help put in place new organisational systems to help you love your home again. You will learn new skills and tips too.

What are the benefits of the service?

There are so many benefits of de-cluttering and organising. You will find it takes less effort to tidy up and clean. Finding stuff is easier, you are in control of your home environment and less stressed. All leading to more free time to do what you want to do.

Are you affiliated to a professional body?

I am an accredited member of APDO UK (Association of Professional De-clutterers and Organisers) and I comply to APDO UK code of ethics. www.apdo-uk.co.uk

Do you clean?

I will clean cupboards, shelving and corners as part of the de-cluttering process but I do not offer a cleaning service. I will bring bin bags and my trusty organising trolley!

Will I be forced to throw stuff away?

No, we will work through the clutter together and decide if you love or use items. Then find new storage and organising systems that work for you and your home. Personal belongings can be difficult to sort such as loved ones’ letters, pictures, etc but we can work at your pace and simplify items. For example, we may display items as a wonderful reminder or store in memory boxes.

What will happen to the de-cluttered stuff I don’t want?

We will re-cycle, re-home and refuse. Re-cycle to charity shops, freecycle or local recycling centres. Re-home to friends and family or refuse – bin. I will help take items to the charity shop of your choice but will be unable to take stuff to the tip due to Waste Carrier Legislation.

Do I need to buy storage before the session?

No, let’s see what storage you have already. Once we have de-cluttered you may find you have enough storage or you may need to buy more. I can advise.

How will I keep the clutter at bay?

Once you are enjoying your clutter-free loved home you will feel inspired and motivated to use my tips and advice on maintaining your lovely home long term. However, life does get in the way sometimes and if you feel you are slipping into old ‘clutter ways’, book another session or I can visit regularly to help.
